Teachers should edit a rubric before using it to grade an assignment on Google Docs. Teachers are able to edit rubrics after they have been used to grade an assignment, however it will reset graded documents and require re-grading.

The green status bar at the bottom of a rubric tile means the rubric has not been connected to an assignment or used for grading yet.

The red status bar at the bottom of a rubric tile means the rubric has been connected to an assignment and may have been used for grading already.  If this is edited, assignments that were assessed using this rubric will reset and need to be reassessed.
