Feedback Features

Feedback Comments

When students submit an assignment, JoeZoo will automatically assess the assignment and provide writing feedback in the form of embedded comments. Teachers may add feedback comments in the submission.

Comments are categorized and colour-coded for students to better organize and engage with feedback. JoeZoo tracks feedback engagement and initiative for each comment, which will then be shared with the student's teacher.

Students can review a comment by using the following steps:
  1. Scroll down to the Assignment List within the JoeZoo App Home Page
  2. Review the assignment status to the far right of each assignment's name
  3. Click the "Preview" or "Review" assignment submission status button
  4. Click the highlighted text

Feedback Engagement

Students can demonstrate Feedback Engagement by reading or listening (text-to-speech accessibility feature) to the comments in their submission using the following steps:
  1. Read the comment
  2. Click "Listen" at the bottom
  3. Click "Close" once done

Feedback Initiative

If students see resource links in any of the embedded comments, they can demonstrate Feedback Initiative by visiting and reading the link their teacher has provided. Comments may or may not have resource links as these are provided by teachers.

Students can demonstrate Feedback Initiative using the following steps:
  1. Locate the resource link(s)
  2. Click the link to review the resource provided by your teacher
  3. Click "Close" once done

Grades

When an assignment submission status changes from "Preview" to "Review", students can review their final feedback and grade using the following steps:
  1. Scroll down to the Assignment List within the JoeZoo App Home Page
  2. Click the "Review" assignment submission status button
  3. Scroll down to the rubric located under the assignment
